About my Village Akhori
Related to country: India

This is the village of famous Uttarakhand ke Gandhi ,Late Shri Indra Mani Badoniji who was pioneer of Uttarakhand Andolan in 1994.
Extremely beautiful, at the height of about 6000 feet above d sea level, one of the most populous village of Tehri Garhwal. Always plays the role of a responsible big brother for its neighboring villages. About 300 households, Cast wise composition
12 upper casts out of these 2 Brahmins ( Dangwal, Badoni) and 10 Rajputs( Negi, Mehra, Kathait,Chauhan,Rawat, Bisht,Panwar, Rana,Bidwan,Dhangwal) and 3 Scheduled Casts ( Beda, Badi and Dome). The uniqueness of the village is the great understanding and affection among its population. Every alternate year the village organizes Ramlila and Panwart( Pandav Nritya) . Also each year a district level Cricket tournament for last 20 years is being organized in which the prizes around Rs Fifty Thousand are being distributed. The prize for winner team remains abt 20-25 thousand. Its worth to see this tournament and the biggest surprise for the stranger is running commentary in Hindi and English repeatedly that to in fully professional way ( I bet you people might not have heard it even in Doordarsan) and its credit goes to a very talented guy Girish Badoni, a Basic School Teacher. A village full of talent I see a great future for it and I wish best of luck to all the Akhori’s Guys there. Cheers!!!
